If you never change your mind, why have one?

Hello everyone! Long time, no see!!   Smiley

Going to try to be active again - lots of changes since we last saw each other, but I am gaining control of personal time again so hoping time here will be part of that.

Meanwhile, I'm sure many of you noticed that the forum was down for a day or two (that I know of). It seems GoDaddy moved everything to a brand spanking new hosting server, which changed the address of the database for the forum. Once I updated forum settings to the new address, we were back to business as usual.

However, while on the phone with tech support, they told me that the code for this forum is so old, it is in danger of crashing. The database is solid, so no worries about loss of threads and posts, but loss of access sucks!

The software hasn't been updated since we installed it in 2010, so this weekend I'll be making a backup of the database and the all the forum files, then updating the forum. If it goes as it's supposed to, you won't notice a thing. If not, you could notice anything from a few brief disappearances to full-blown down time. Don't be alarmed - it won't last long. Worst case scenario, the whole thing will crash and I'll just restore it back to its current status while I consult the Simple Machine Gurus about how to upgrade without crashing.

See you soon!
