Zach Selwyn - Writer Desert native Zach Selwyn (writer), a.ka. Zachariah, began making music when he recorded a seven-song hip-hop EP in 2000. After being robbed in the studio, he returned to his original roots, and began writing and recording California country-rock that echoed the sounds of the Eagles and Flying Burrito Brothers, but incorporated his hip-hop influences in several songs, which created a genre he refers to as "honky-tonk freestyle." His on stage free-styling and sold-out live shows led director Matt Leutwyler to cast Zachariah in the comedy-horror film Dead and Breakfast in 2003. Recently, Zachariah has been chosen from over 10,000 hopefuls to be one of the twelve finalists on ESPN's new TV show Dream Job. He has also appeared on Dragnet, Chicago Hope and Sabrina. His first full length EP Ghost Signs is available on Papago Records and can be found at CD Baby. Reach Zachariah through his website Zachariah Music.
